Archive Notes

These shirts come from boxes that were never emptied.

Every item on this site is part of the CauseShirts Archive, a loosely maintained collection of event shirts from causes that once mattered, still kind of do, and were very earnest at the time.

Some were worn for a single afternoon.
Some were folded immediately and stored “just in case.”
Some were misprinted, over-ordered, or handed out after everyone had already left.

They waited.

What This Means

  • The events are real in spirit, but not in record.
  • The causes were sincere, even if the follow-through was uneven.
  • Dates, slogans, and town names reflect how these things were usually remembered, not how they were officially documented.
  • Any imperfections are preserved on purpose. This includes spacing issues, awkward phrasing, and the occasional typo that survived committee review.

Condition Notes

Most shirts are:

  • Never worn
  • Lightly forgotten
  • Stored in boxes labeled things like “IMPORTANT – DO NOT THROW OUT”

A few show signs of:

  • Ink inconsistencies
  • Slight color drift
  • Decisions that felt correct in the moment

About the Archive

The archive is not complete.
It grows when more boxes are found.
It shrinks when people finally wear the shirts.

Nothing here is reprinted once it’s gone. Not out of principle. Just because that’s how archives work.

If you own one, you now carry a small piece of a cause that had a banner, a table, and a volunteer who stayed late to pack everything up.

They meant well.
